Sprout Social is looking for a motivated, organized, strategic content production manager to oversee the logistics, resources and content project lifecycles for our brand marketing team. The ideal candidate has a proven record of successful project management in a content- or creative-driven environment and is comfortable working across multiple teams to shepherd a project from brief through execution and measurement.

The Sprout Social platform is used by more than 17,000 brands around the world. Companies like Zendesk, Trello, Google, SoulCycle and Evernote rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media. We believe in the power of social engagement to create lasting brand loyalty between our customers and their customers, and the Content Production Manager will be at the forefront guiding us to tell our story.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and prioritizes the project stream, working with internal teammates and freelancers to determine project definition and business requirements
  • Assigns and monitors work of team members, ensuring that project steps are on time and in alignment with business objectives
  • Creates and maintains project documentation such as project plans, proposals and status reports
  • Communicates and drives acceptance of project deadlines, milestones, and dependencies
  • Actively tracks project status, progress, risks and issues
  • Communicates roles and responsibilities to team members and stakeholders
  • Works cross-functionally (internally and externally) to ensure all needed assets, resources, costs and deadlines are identified and managed day-to-day to successfully meet organizational expectations and project goals
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to creative/technology team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and requirements documentation
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management, preferably in content production or creative
  • Experience with JIRA preferred
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, such as organization, documentation, and delegation
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to interact with staff/colleagues of varying levels
  • Able to prioritize work and shift priorities as needed to meet aggressive deadlines and milestones
  • Able to identify and resolve issues quickly
  • Bonus points for PMI certification
