Contract - Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for overall project management in the Innovation Department. You should be a champion of Agile software development processes, a player/coach who can mentor both by showing and doing but also through holding teams accountable for results. The role will ensure consistency and quality across multiple teams related to project and sprint planning, resource capacity management and progress reporting. This person must be able to demonstrate the ability to define and evolve Scrum and project management methods to create an environment in which team velocity consistently improves. In doing so, this person ensures scrum and project teams are well versed and executing Scrum and Project delivery methodologies and rituals consistently, provides a clear set of metrics and measure to ensure the team is informed of their performance and demonstrates leadership by holding team accountable to a high standard of quality software output.
- Owns and leads the evolution of scrum and project management processes in Innovation
- Accountable for overall scrum team(s) performance as measured by team velocity stabilization and gradual, consistent improvement
- Coach all Innovation team members on Rise Scrum and Project management standards and expected norms
- Continuously work to improve department performance & productivity and own capacity planning activities
- Collaborates with Innovation leadership to ensure department is focused on achieving and exceeding company goals.
- Manage cross-functional project teams using keen leadership, effective communication, strong negotiation skills with a positive and uplifting demeanor
- Provide status/tracking of project progress and managing project trade-offs across scope, timing, and resources and adjusting priorities as needed
- Comfortable managing multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity and magnitude
- Manages, mentors and leads a team of high caliber project managers/scrum masters
- Promotes and support effective project manage
- Responsible for the administration, organization and evolution of project management and team communication software; especially Jira and Confluen
- Responsible for ensuring Innovation department new hire onboarding processes are kept up to date and effective help new team members efficiently and positively join our rapidly growing department
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
