Copywriter Team Lead
Reports to the Creative Services Manager
Our Creative Services Team:
Our creative services team acts as a full-service in-house creative agency with copywriters, print and digital designers, social media associates, and front-end developers. We work in small, collaborative teams on internal projects for Enova, as well as each of our 10 international brands.
As a completely web-based company, digital is always at the heart of our work. Creative services holds a close partnership with Enova’s digital marketing teams, and we focus on staying in touch with best practices and ever-evolving standards.
This is where YOU come in:
As our Copywriter Team Lead you’ll manage and mentor our small but mighty team of copywriters. You can also expect to work closely with cross-functional departments across Enova, including business stakeholders and legal/compliance. As a web-based company in the financial space, it’s critical that you drive on-brand and compliant copy for the organization as a whole.
Much of your focus will be around copy for the Enova website and the websites for our international products and brands. Understanding the basics of digital marketing and UX design will therefore be critical to your effective partnership with these groups. Despite a heavy focus on the digital side, you’ll of course be leading the copy for other areas as well, such as direct mail, PR communications, and video scripts.
You’re right for this job if:
- You have 4+ years of experience working in a copywriter position, with at least 1 year directly managing a team
- You are a great storyteller! You can write copy for websites, landing pages, emails, direct mail, blog posts, SEO pages, social media, PR, internal communications, user interfaces, video scripts, PPC/banner ads, and more
- You can proof like a pro! You have a strong attention to detail and edit projects (personal and the work of the entire copy team) for AP style, brand consistency, grammatical accuracy, and UX
- You easily partner and collaborate with designers, coders and marketers to develop compelling and creative solutions
- You are comfortable interfacing with the Legal Team to understand compliance considerations, and have experience doing so
- You are flexible and adaptable enough to rework your copy based on legal, marketing and other stakeholder feedback
- You are easily able to localize your copy to target geographies (US, UK, Australia, Canada)
- You can write copy consistent with specific brand voices
- You are a walking encyclopedia of what you’ve worked on, and what has and hasn’t performed well
- You enjoy working in an agile environment of constantly learning, testing and improving
- You have demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a reporting team of copywriters, delegating work and prioritizing assignments daily
- You are highly efficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word
- You’ve earned your bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, or have equivalent professional experience

- You’re familiar with with Google Analytics and interpreting data
