Sprout Social is looking for a dynamic attorney to join our small-but-mighty Legal team. The individual will report directly to Sprout Social’s General Counsel, and will have responsibility for managing many of the day-to-day legal issues facing one of the fastest growing companies in Chicago.

You are a highly motivated problem solver with good business judgment and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You work fast (but smart) and can learn on the fly. You also hunt for efficiencies so that your life and the lives of others are constantly made easier. Responsibilities

• Assist General Counsel in providing legal advice related to the worldwide business initiatives of Sprout Social
• Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts, including customer, vendor, partnership, independent consultant and non-disclosure agreements
• Work on special projects that touch on all aspects of the business, including employment law issues, strategic transactions, privacy law compliance and intellectual property matters
• Assist General Counsel with corporate governance matters, including organizational documents and management of corporate entities

Desired Skills & Experience

• JD and license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 3-5 years of experience practicing corporate law at a law firm or in house (or combination of both)
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
• Experience with technology and privacy issues is desirable
• Ability to evaluate and advise on legal risks and balance with business realities
• Self-starter, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Conscientious, professional and reliable, with a strong work ethic and curiosity regarding the technology industry
• Innovative and strategic thinker who demonstrates creative problem-solving, often in unprecedented cutting-edge scenarios
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
