As a Construction Payment Management (CPM) Software Engineer Intern, you will be a member of a fast-paced product development team that is creating innovative technology for Textura’s international, large-scale, commercial construction industry customers. The CPM Software Engineer Intern designs, codes, tests, implements, and supports the maintenance and enhancement of the look, feel, and UI usability of the CPM SaaS solution.

 

Construction Payment Management is a complex and challenging domain that includes elements of accounting and workflow applications.  A successful candidate is a heads-down coder with top-notch problem solving skills who can work independently or as part of a collaborative project team. 

 Locations: 1405 Lake Cook Road Deerfield, IL OR 130 East Randolph Chicago, IL 60601

 

Requirements:

  • Solid GUI or web-application software development experience using modern Javascript tools and frameworks such as Prototype, JQuery, Knockout, NodeJS, or Angular
  • Knowledge of Core JavaScript (DOM-manipulation, unobtrusive, OOP)
  • Experience hand-coding scalable and efficient HTML5, CSS, and Javascript (knowledge of responsive design principles a plus)
  • Knowledge of, and/or experience with, Python or Python web technologies such as Django, Flask, or Twisted
  • Background/familiarity with Java or C++ or equivalent understanding of object oriented analysis and design concepts
  • Comfortable developing code on a Linux platform (Ubuntu or Red Hat experience is a plus)
  • Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL and ORM experience a plus)
  • Experience with full lifecycle development and/or with an Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Actively contributing to an open source community such at GitHub, Stack Overflow, or Bitbucket
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Technical Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Information Services is preferred. Ideal for students as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
  • Fulltime Internship opportunity for May/June 2016 – August/September 2016.

  • Develop secure, scalable, high volume, commercial-grade web applications
  • Be involved with all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis,design, coding, testing, implementation, and support
  • Work in a collaborative, team environment
