With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally understand our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of said data. Here at Tempus, we are building the infrastructure to modernize cancer treatment. By analyzing a patient’s genetic data in the context of molecular therapies, We empower physicians to make real-time data-driven decisions in clinic based on the comprehensive computational analysis of a patient’s unique pathology. We're looking for engineers who are passionate about changing the status quo and bringing cancer care into the 21st century.
As a Data Operations Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of Tempus by wrangling data sets into structured data that drive patient treatment plans decisions and enable research team discovery.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze, document, and implement data transformation to populate Tempus data models with partner data.
- Sustain data integrity by serving as a data custodian for reference data sets and transformation rules.
- Provision, monitor, and manage job orchestration and data gateway infrastructure to guarantee timely ingest/egress of partner data.
- Define, instrument, and monitor source data quality measures, and communicate with partner’s technical contact to resolve live integration issues.
- Identify and socialize improvements to data processing infrastructure and workflows.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Experience parsing semi-structured (JSON, XML, EDI) data and store in a tabular data model.
- Experience in parsing and transforming data using Python.
- Experience in agile environments and comfort with quick iterations.
- Experience in working with RESTful endpoints in ETL processes.
- Solid knowledge of relational database modeling concepts and writing advanced SQL queries..
- Self-starter mentality with proven ability to navigate a complex domain and organization relationships.
Great if you have:
- Experience with messaging platforms and real-time SOA integration patterns.
- Healthcare domain knowledge and experience implementing integrations with healthcare transaction protocols (FHIR, HL7, ANSI X12).
- Working knowledge of AWS job orchestration and scheduling offerings.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, and deploying jobs in containers with tools like Jenkins.
