The Data Science Research and Development team is responsible for developing the fundamental data science methods, techniques, and best practices that power our company’s mission. We work on projects like predicting national-level consumer and voter behavior, creating novel visualizations for interactive clustering of survey respondents, optimizing large-scale constrained resource allocations, and building generalizable predictive analytics software.
We expose some of our work through fully-featured web applications and deploy them within the Civis Data Science Platform. These applications are used by our own Applied Data Scientists and our clients to make informed, data-driven decisions. We are looking for a front end developer well-versed in data visualization design to work on our Chicago-based team to help design and build these applications.

The Research and Development team at Civis is home to data scientists who come from diverse walks of life, from statistics PhDs to software engineers and political polling experts. You will collaborate with the team on front end development and visually communicating insights based on complex data. We value creativity, an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, on-the-job excellence and offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
