Database Administrator

Responsibilities

Contributing to all aspects of the database subsystem including database administration, modeling & design, development, query optimization, performance tuning, scalability, and high availability

Primary duties will be data modelling, performance tuning, source control management and deployments to development environments.

Participating with the technology team in all activities including architecture, analysis, development, quality assurance, and deployment

  • Working with technology team to plan and implement new features, bug fixes, and performance enhancements
  • Monitoring and performance tuning
  • Authoring database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions

Additional duties will include:

  • Production DBA support
  • SSIS development for both datawarehousing and custom vendor/Client ETL functions
  • Work with business stakeholders to identify and implement reporting and analysis requirements

These skills/experiences are a must

3+ years of RDBMS experience

2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or greater

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Strong experience with SQL Server as developer, including but not limited to:

  • Strong T-SQL skills, including new features in SQL 2012
  • Performance tuning
  • Source control/deployment

Strong Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server technology stack (Database Engine, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)

Knowledge of data modeling and tools (relational design, normalization, referential integrity, entity relationship modeling) for web-enabled OLTP

Knowledge of OLAP systems and dimensional design concepts (Data Warehouse/BI/Analysis Services)

Experience building and scaling databases for web-based SaaS applications

Experience with security and data encryption

Ability and desire to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to analyze business requirements and architect a database solution

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

While not required, you can further impress us by having the following skills or experience

Knowledge of SSIS and strategies for ETL

Experience with supporting frameworks and tools such as Hibernate and Spring Batch

Experience with Business Intelligence/Visualization tools such as SiSense

Healthcare domain and technology experience

Experience in highly-regulated industries
