You are a front-end hybrid engineer with rock solid front-end skills and command of modern tools and techniques to build modular JS and BEM style CSS. You are a confident Drupal and Wordpress developer, who is comfortable with creating child themes, implementing popular plugins, and know how to make simple customizations with PHP. You will work with developers across our Chicago and NY offices, developing mobile-first responsive sites for our industry leading clients.
Responsibilities:
· Meet and work closely with teammates during all phases of product development
· Work directly in Wordpress and/or Drupal developing themes, and modules/plugins.
· Word with Node.js to create applications based on client needs.
· Implement best coding practices and development workflows.
· Participate in peer code reviews to ensure consistency and avoid duplication
· Code responsive web pages using HTML5 and CSS3 media queries from wireframes
· Suggest and push new ideas, frameworks, and process to move the team forward in our space.
· Aware of cross-browser incompatibilities and able to troubleshoot problems
· Develop custom and sometimes complex JavaScript features
· Meet with UX/Design to discuss wireframes and offer feedback in areas of complexity, development effort and new ideas.
· Manage time wisely. Know when the team should be looking at the big picture and when it should be concerned with the details.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years front-end development
· 3+ years with Drupal & Wordpress theming and plugin usage
· Deep understanding of Drupal & Wordpress configuration and theme layers
· Deep understanding of HTML5 and use of semantic markup
· Deep understanding of creating CSS using SASS
· Reasonable understanding of JavaScript using jQuery
· Reasonable comfort level with Git
· Great time management skills
Nice to Have:
· Experience with accessibility compliance and screen reader tools
· Experience with Grunt, Gulp, NPM, and Node.js
