The ideal candidate is an experienced DevOps Team Manager who is comfortable architecting and managing a growing Team owning our Amazon Web Services (AWS) SaaS application.

REQUIREMENTS

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a hands-on managerial role with responsibility for establishing and implementing technology direction while ensuring deployment effectiveness and operational quality. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and work closely with the Vice Presidents of Engineering and Security. Additionally you will work collaboratively with Architecture, Product Management, User Experience and Engineering leaders. This is an exceptionally smart, fun, and energetic team.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead our SAAS infrastructure allocations, licenses and costs management.
  • Effectively prioritize work, encourage best practices and coach your team.
  • There are two broad areas of operational management responsibilities:
    • DevOps Automation and
    • SaaS infrastructure

      DevOps Automation

      • Lead the design, development and delivery of creative solutions that automate DevOps engineering processes to improve efficiency, performance and reliability.
      • Collaborate with other engineers to develop deployment strategies for existing and new services
      • Aim to achieve cost efficiency through continuous productivity improvements and capacity flexibility
      • Ensuring team compliance to Enterprise Architectural Patterns / Standards and
      • Best Practices with full coordination with architecture, engineering and security teams.
      • Resource planning to ensure alignment with priorities and performance expectations to meet business demand

      SaaS Infrastructure

      • Lead the global delivery of our AWS Cloud-based SaaS in an agile, responsive and predictable manner that consistently delivers quality services through the standardization of tools and processes.
      • Manage Site Availability and Reliability tools and process to ensure a healthy SaaS environment, e.g. monitoring tools, latency and intra-service SLAs, monitoring and alerting infrastructures, etc.
      • Governance / Reporting - Get to a "Single Pane of Glass" Dashboard
      • Ensure SLAs are met to comply with contracts / stakeholders
      • Manage BCP/DR and Incident Response processes

      WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

      • You must have experience managing a DevOps automation and delivery team with multiple direct reports supporting high uptime Cloud SaaS environments
      • You have 7+ years technology experience with 3+ years in a management position in a high-growth environment
      • You have experience establishing/optimizing Continuous Delivery pipelines
      • You have a bachelor degree in Information Systems required or equivalent experience, masters degree preferred.
      • You have prior working experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Amazon Web Services (AWS), DevOps automation, Micro Services and CI/CD.
      • You have experience working in highly regulated environments: SEC and/or FINRA
      • You are acutely security-minded
      • You are technically aware and keeping up to date on current technology trends
      • You have experience with network architecture topology design, including network security.
      • You are fluent in best practices for scaling applications, balancing costs, performance and reliability
      • You have experience with Linux environments, scripting, Jenkins and Packer
      • You have experience with configuration Management/Automation Infrastructure (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc.)
      • You have experience working with Docker / Kubernetes / Mesos
      • You have experience working with New Relic, Splunk, and/or Sumologic
