Position:

The Digital Course Designer and Developer collaborates with Everspring’s Production and Instructional Design teams to design and build interactive digital content for our University partners’ online programs. This individual also manages these assets within multiple environments, such as learning management systems (LMS) and content management systems (CMS). This position will report to the Director of Production, and is located in Evanston, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize design skills, and specifically web design tools, to streamline the look and feel of online educational assets
  • Ensure that all educational assets are engaging for the learner and meet educational goals
  • Work with Production Director and team members to coordinate all aspects of multimedia production from intake through completion, including scheduling, prototyping, development, and deployment to the LMS platform
  • Design and develop scalable, modular and test-driven frontend frameworks and architecture
  • Design user interfaces, from initial wireframe mockup to HTML/CSS prototypes
  • Design product features and intuitive user experiences
  • Design and develop re-usable interactive templates for narrated presentations.
  • Regularly review the digital work within the higher education space to constantly stay at the forefront of creative trends
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally upon request
  • 3-10 years of design and development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, development, computer science or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge and experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
  • Proven experience with Adobe Creative suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and other design tools
  • Experience working in a responsive environment, such as designing for both web, tablet and mobile
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas, suggestions, and concepts early
  • Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to hit challenging deadlines while creating high quality work
  • Ability to design within the constraints of different technology, systems and platforms
  • Hand-drawing and illustrating abilities a plus, but not required
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) a plus, but not required
