SUMMARY:

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, change minded, operational improvement focused leader to work on building a world class finance department.  This will requires someone to look at things continually and say - ‘how can this be better.’


You should be a person who owns their area, and knows how to leverage technology, and build an efficient F&A business. Personality counts - as does someone who can communicate effectively across the organization.  We need a new accounting system as well as an audit.  There are resources, but there is work to do.  Our business needs people who roll up their sleeves, and enjoys building and seeing things get better.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the accounting and billing functions - our billing can be complex as we work with 1500 customers - and leverage technology to make it efficient.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions including payroll, accounts payables, expense reports, cash flow transactions and taxes

  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that confirm the integrity of financial processes across the company

  • Manage the activities of the department for accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports

  • Establish and implement departmental policies and operating procedures

  • Ensure income and sales tax compliance

  • Lead annual independent audit

  • Lead a team of accountants (A/P, A/R)

  • Work closely with senior leadership on strategic and ad hoc projects.


SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

You will manage a team of 3-4 accounting specialists.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA preferred

  • 5-10 years experience in Accounting, including leading small team of accounting and finance professionals

  • SaaS/software sales accounting experience

  • Small-company/startup experience; entrepreneurial

  • Advanced Excel skills, data oriented, analytical acumen

  • Financial audit experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Process-oriented and disciplined; excited about implementing new processes and supporting the company in adopting new discipline in financial management

  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks & SalesForce; experience with financial systems implementations and/or upgrades (Intacct/Netsuite)

  • Flexible, friendly, but performance-oriented management style

  • Continuous improvement/efficiency mindset
