Director, Accounting and External Reporting

DESCRIPTION

Leads team that is responsible for the preparation of external reports, including public filings. The role also provides technical support on accounting and disclosure matters in accordance with GAAP and global exchange reporting requirements.  
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and evaluate impact of new accounting pronouncements and guidance; incorporate/modify disclosure requirements arising from new pronouncements. 
  • Evaluate accounting and disclosure impact of new agreements and transactions entered into by the Company. 
  • Preparation of clear, concise and thorough memoranda documenting above accounting / reporting evaluations.
  • Remain current on new pronouncements and technical accounting issues.
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely preparation of reporting packages.
  • Prepare financial information for Group Accounts, external and internal auditors.
  • Review of documents, schedules, and other documentation prepared by the External Reporting staff to support filings and presentations. Review GAAP checklists. Review of tax entries and tax footnote disclosure supporting documentation.
  • Review debt covenant compliance and reporting for the Company’s Credit Agreements.
  • Oversee LAC and APAC Accounting and liaise with EMEA Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis Department.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, transfer pricing calculations and intercompany accounts eliminations.
  • Ensure compliance with specified control processes as set forth by global parent organization (ensure key controls over financial reporting are operating effectively as the process owner).
  • Prepare and update written internal policy documents.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses as needed.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active CPA license required with strong technical US GAAP skills
  • Expert-level and recent external reporting experience
  • Strongly prefer Big 4 accounting experience
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel
  • Experience with international subsidiaries and foreign currency translation methods.
  • Experience with international exchange regulations
  • Experience in IT Services and Software sales environment
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up timely
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and intellectual curiosity
  • Self-starter and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism

EDUCATION:

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Masters degree highly preferred.
