Lead all creative content strategy, development and execution at Curiosity.

The Role:

As Director of Content, you will:

Lead and inspire a team of amazing editors, designers and video producers.

Ignite curiosity, drive growth, engage audiences and power branded content partnerships.

Be supported by company leadership, partnerships, product and technology to ensure your success.

Guide the creative and editorial vision. Then lead from ideation to completion. Includes both organic and branded multimedia articles, video, graphics, social media content.

Establish content (both organic and branded) strategy and goals.

Orchestrate some days and be a player/coach the next.

Have strong opinions about what makes great content. And have the experience and skills to translate ideas into great work.

Know the top social networks inside and out. Then experiment to find new, relevant ways to tell stories people want to share.

Make creative decisions, set strategy and mold our content into a world class brand.

Day to day:

  • Own the strategy and execution of all content creation (both organic and branded). Includes all multimedia articles, videos, images, promotions, audio, etc.

  • Own the editorial vision, voice and quality.  Ensure all content efforts align with Curiosity’s mission.

  • Lead and inspire a team of creative people. Lead by example. Make tough decisions.

  • Own the editorial calendar and social calendar, social strategies and tactics. Execute against them.

  • Own creation of new content (organic and branded) and social campaigns.

  • Own implementation of best practices in each social platform.

  • Leverage a video index of over 2M videos we’ve already curate and curate daily from the web’s best video creators.

  • Develop campaigns to promote our products (app, website, forthcoming podcast, video series, etc).

  • Assign articles to internal writer/editors and external freelancers and contractors. Manage daily production, weekly lineups, monthly editorial content series.

  • Own results, lead and manage your team against clear objectives.

Your experience:

  • Proven leadership in creative, editorial, video production and/or relevant work.

  • Proven results from content you’ve created and lead creative teams to create.

  • 5+ years of working with world class content on the web in a publisher, agency or related setting.

  • Have example campaigns/content/creative projects to share.

  • Excellent copywriting, editing and/or video production portfolio.

  • Proven results on tight deadlines and changes strategy or priority.

  • Proven background of curiosity, lifelong learning and passion to change the status quo.
