Position Overview:

Technology and innovation are absolutely vital to the long-term success, growth and profitability of the HealthiPASS business. The Director of Enigneering is a critical role helping to bring innovative and high quality software to HealthiPASS’ clients and enhancing their overall user experience. This position will partner with the Founder/CEO and Executive Leadership Team to drive product strategy and initiatives to scale technology, execute on roadmap, institute best engineering practices and deliver innovative products.

This role will combine a visionary outlook coupled with a “hands-on” approach to implementation. In this role, you will design the engineering organization model, and build and lead engineering teams both on and off shore. You will help set the direction for the team, drive the evolution of the systems architecture and make appropriate technology decisions. This includes utilizing a strong ability to communicate across teams, and inspire others through conviction of clearly defined vision and plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the Executive Team, own all of product development; responsible for owning and driving the overall architecture, software development and innovation of HealthiPASS’ core products.
  • Partner with the Founder/CEO and other leaders to plan, execute and measure the success of all of HealthiPASS’ products, solutions and engineering objectives.
  • Design the long term organizational model and plan for HealthiPASS Engineering – onshore/off shore deployment (headcount) mix and use of IT Engineering Firms: This is a hands-on, player/coach role.
  • Instrumental in growing and influencing a positive and productive engineering culture that fosters innovation and creativity.
  • Recruit and attract high caliber engineering talent to scale team onshore/offshore.
  • Design and implement architectural guidelines in the design and development of HealthiPASS’ product; set standards for the development team to follow including code walkthrough and review of technical designs done by software engineers.
  • Guide and oversee architectural decisions with consideration to scaling, performance, extensibility.
  • Drive the broad knowledge of the platform and the focus on quality, technical design, unit testing, scalable solution development and best practices around application lifecycle management.
  • Participate in the product feature prioritization process and drafting of the product roadmap.
  • Drive the execution of the product roadmap and remove the technical barriers that are uncovered during development.
  • Bring unique perspective of technology and innovation trends, and help drive the business strategy through technical ownership of the product.
  • Plan and execute development cycles; implement additional and/or modify existing agile principles, and drive a deeply agile culture.
  • Balance the speed of adding new features with the need for quality, performance and stability.
  • Provide technical leadership on critical back-end and infrastructure work streams and initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of security data and disaster recovery policies and plans.
  • Establish the critical KPIs to support engineering delivery and to measure technological performance.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years experience leading on and off-shore teams in start-up/growth software companies; Industry experience within Healthcare/IT (preferably on the patient-facing side) + knowledge of healthcare revenue cycles
  • Track record of releasing products in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Demonstrable technical skills with deep exposure to all aspects of technology stack (xxxx (java..)
  • Detailed experience with agile methodologies, infrastructure technologies, architecture transformation (SoA), and a deep understanding of how to build and release SaaS and Cloud based services.
  • Access to a network of highly skilled engineering talent.
  • An inspiring leader with the ability to work closely on a technical level with the team, mentor and develop engineers.
