About The Opportunity

We’re hiring for Director of Engineering, Delivery Systems to join our team. GrubHub leads in the mobile food-ordering industry with a portfolio of brands that includes GrubHub, Seamless, MenuPages and Allmenus. We’re dedicated to connecting hungry diners with local restaurants. With offices in New York City, Chicago and London, GrubHub supports every order with 24/7 customer service.

Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
  • Work with product on prioritization and scheduling of product and engineering features
  • Coach and mentor engineering teams and team leaders
  • Guide growth and evolution of the team and engineering platform
  • Own team engagement through 1x1s, communication, celebrations, training
You Should Have
  • 10+ years of experience
    • 5+ years of focused programming (Java, Scala, C#, Ruby)
    • 5+ years of experience managing engineers
    • 3+ years of experience managing multiple teams
  • A strong understanding of agile processes
  • A strong background in technical design / architecture
  • A strong background in building high volume distributed systems
  • Strong communication (written, verbal) skills
