Job Description

The Director of Government Affairs will develop a comprehensive advocacy strategy to support the company’s mission, including government affairs, public affairs, and relationship building components. You will track and analyze state and federal legislation across the country concerning telehealth, telemedicine, and ocular health; manage contract lobbying teams; build relationships within various stakeholder communities to help advance the company’s mission, and communicate company goals and value to public audiences.

What You’ll Need

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience with state and federal legislative process, programs, rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills in healthcare law and policy
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills to effectively interact internally with all levels of the organization and externally with outside groups
  • Ability to establish strong, positive, and constructive working relationships with customers, ally groups, and internally with all division teams and management

What You'll Do

  • Monitor upcoming state and federal legislation that affects telemedicine; manage contract lobbyists where necessary
  • Develop relationships with elected officials and potential stakeholder partners (allied policy and advocacy groups) relating to government affairs & advocacy efforts
  • Maintaining relationships with outside advocates, ally groups, and grassroots volunteers
  • Manage various aspects of coordinating tasks for lobbying government affairs team

Bonus If You Have It

  • Law degree
  • Demonstrated experience in public affairs and media relations
  • Experience working across multiple states or jurisdictions
  • Startup experience
