Director of Information Technology
We are looking for a Director of IT to create and drive the strategic vision of Information Technology at Sprout. You will align technology with Sprout’s company goals, while building and leading the team supporting our growing business. As the Director of IT, you will be responsible for streamlining and governing Sprout’s overall internal application landscape and lead our Office Technologies and Help Desk functions.
You should be a highly motivated professional and be comfortable working within a complex technical environment that has continuously evolving requirements. You will lead the charge on technical research to support our internal teams at Sprout and ensure that our system hardware, operating systems and software systems are leveraged to their fullest potential.
A successful candidate will be a strong leader who supports our business and technology goals through creative thinking and proven complex problem-solving skills - you are equally comfortable digging into business requirements as well as technical architecture and design. Most importantly, you must thrive on measuring yourself by the success of our team, a group that builds and sells a product that is used by more than 19,000 brands around the world. Responsibilities
Internal Systems / Business Tools
- Setup, configuration, access control and ongoing maintenance of internal systems
- Ensure that technologies implemented meet their respective departments’ strategic and operational needs and that adequate communication, training and ongoing user support is provided
- Monitor usage of internal business systems and ensure continuous improvement standards are adhered to
- Advise and direct respective business units to improve integrations across internal platforms (where appropriate)
- Collaborate with our internal Engineering Infrastructure and Security teams to enact policies and support a variety of cross-company initiatives, such as pursuance of SOC2 compliance and other security or privacy standards
- Implement and manage a Master Directory Server/Identity provider to streamline the onboarding and offboarding process for employees
- Provide guidance/direction on scope, risks and other potential issues to internal stakeholders for new potential productivity tools
Office Technologies
- Own Network Administration
- Support all Audio/Video needs as they relate to our Chicago HQ and San Francisco Offices, and remote employees (i.e. video conferencing, digital signage solutions, conference room optimization software)
- Create best practices for our growing remote employee base to stay connected to their teams and meetings.
- Improve existing inventory endpoint control by implementing new software and process for inventory tracking
- Work directly with finance to forecast inventory expenses as it relates to new hires and office expansion
Help Desk
- Manage our existing Help Desk team, streamlining productivity and delineating responsibilities
- Define measurements and continuous improvement of our Help Desk services to our employees
- Optimize the onboarding process by which IT supports new hires
- Work with team to create process around managing hardware repairs, routine maintenance, data transfers and computer refreshes
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent work experience
- 8-10 years of experience working in IT operations with 2-3 years managing and/or directing an IT operation
- Experience with modern, SaaS-based corporate IT
- Strong ability to translate between business and technology teams
- History of technical accomplishments that demonstrate meeting corporate and departmental goals and objectives
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- Intellectual curiosity and the desire to keep current with evolving IT trends and the industry in which the company does business
- Strong leadership skills managing business initiatives and cross-functional teams
