The basics:

We’re looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial marketing pro to join our executive team as Director of Marketing. If you want to operate and drive a marketing strategy and help grow a tech startup, then you’ve come to the right place. You’ll need to be able to run all aspects of our marketing, from creation of the holistic strategy to implementation of individual campaigns. We’ll give you the resources - tools, people, budget, or help - that you need to be successful.

Responsibilities:

The majority of your duties would fall into the bucket of Digital Marketing, but you’ll be responsible for our overall Marketing and PR strategy. Your overall goals are to drive qualified leads and build a strong pipeline for our sales team, enhance the brand awareness of Yapmo, measure your results, and continuously iterate on your strategies. Together, these will help drive aggressive revenue growth for Yapmo. Your specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead generation - implement lead gen strategies to support our outbound inside sales team

  • Marketing campaigns - develop custom outbound/inbound campaigns to supplement your lead gen strategy

  • Content marketing - create assets such as blogs, email campaigns, infographics, etc.

  • SEO/SEM

  • Website - continuously update, edit, and revamp our website

  • Social media - Twitter, LinkedIn, you name it

  • PR - network and develop sustainable relationships with the tech community both inside and outside of Chicago

  • Budgeting - Manage a marketing budget and regularly report results and performance to the executive team

You are:

  • An awesome writer - You will be the public written voice of our company, so you'll need to be a crafty (and hopefully edgy!) wordsmith.

  • Experienced & confident - Initially, you’re THE marketing expert. Your knowledge and expertise will be responsible for the success and growth of the department. The idea of a blank slate doesn’t scare you, it excites you.

  • Creative & resourceful - You know the best audiences, medium, and messaging to acquire customers at the lowest possible cost. You are willing to let a “crazy” idea blossom.

  • Results-oriented & analytical - You love new ideas, but you always think about how they impact our target market. You’re not afraid to kill an idea or try something off the wall. You believe the data.

The requirements:

  • Relevant BS/BA degree

  • Master’s degree in Marketing/Business/Communications/English/Related Field is preferred, but real world equivalent learning also counts

  • 3+ years of marketing experience

  • SaaS marketing experience preferred

  • Strong writing skills and experience

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Wordpress, marketing automation, Google Analytics experience
