Who we need:
The Director of People Operations will be a member of the Civis Analytics leadership team. The role reports directly to the CFO and interfaces with the leadership team to develop, manage, and ensure all aspects of human resources align with and contribute to Civis’s business goals. You will oversee, improve, and scale the day-to-day people operations of the company during a period of extraordinary growth. In partnership with management, you will foster a culture of transparency and accountability by applying data science to internal performance measurement of our employees and processes. You will be responsible for all aspects of employee learning and development, recruiting, HR administration, benefits, and employee retention, as well as supporting and preserving the Civis culture.
Responsibilities
  • Human resources, talent acquisition and talent development, employee onboarding, employee relations, organization design and diversity initiatives
  • Compensation and benefits strategy and implementation
  • Workforce planning with management team (needs, priorities, budgets), recruiting team (resource allocation, sourcing channels), and HR team (onboarding, compensation, benefits)
  • Employee relations guidance, policy, and best practices
  • Management of facilities, vendors, travel/expenses, and administrative support
  • Management of all aspects of an HR budget, including setting and monitoring progress against HR-related Key Performance Indicators
  • Expansion of performance measurement and goal-setting practices
  • Developing internal controls, risk management, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
  • A passion for Civis, our mission, and the work we do
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least seven (7) years of operations management experience in a corporate, tech, or startup environment
  • Recognized leadership in building, managing, and coaching a Human Resource team to high performance; strong background in management and organizational effectiveness
  • A desire to mentor and develop the capabilities of your team
  • Excellent writing, communications, and presentation skills with an attention to detail
  • Superior ability at managing workflow for multiple projects, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, constantly-evolving team environment
  • A sense of humor
Preferred qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record of building multi-site operations to scale
  • Experience in the development and administration of compensation and job leveling plans
