Avatria is looking for an application architect to provide technical and architectural leadership for the delivery team as they conceptualize, design, build, and deploy a solution based on the client’s business needs.  As the application architect, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction and overall architectural approach for the project.  You will interact with the client’s senior technical leadership, lead a team of experienced technical consultants and use your expertise to ensure the solution designed follows best practices and is the right fit for the client.  You are an ideal candidate if you know ecommerce inside and out, enjoy solving complex challenges with elegant solutions and are able to effectively convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities:

• Ultimately responsible for overall solution architecture, system design and integration approach for implementation projects
  
• Lead technical sessions with the client team to identify technical requirements and develop solutions
  
• Advise, guide and provide direction to technical team throughout the life of the implementation
  
• Primary point of contact for all technical and architectural issues, questions and concerns
  
• Conduct reviews and give final approval on all technical designs created by the project team
  
• Perform level of effort assessment for project delivery based on requirements and understanding of client’s needs
  
• Ensure technical team follows development best practices – conduct code reviews, identify security vulnerabilities and highlight performance bottlenecks
  
• Recommend solutions to client based on previous experience and ecommerce best practices
  
• Establish rapport and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in architecting and implementing large ecommerce projects
  
• 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring and related technologies
  
• Significant experience with all phases and aspects of the SDLC
  
• Strong experience with implementing large, complex systems with numerous integrations, multi-site/multi-lingual/multi-currency capabilities and dynamic site Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
• Comfortable leading meetings and discussions in client facing roles
  
• Open to travel at least 50% of the time
  
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  
• Undergraduate degree or comparable knowledge in Computer Science theory
  
• Deep, hands on experience with eCommerce concepts and functionality (B2C and/or B2B)
  
• Experience with ecommerce platforms such as hybris, ATG and Demandware preferred
