The Facilities Project Manager will report to the head of Facilities and will work closely with the Facilities Team, contractors and vendors to drive the execution on all aspects of real estate expansions, and office-related projects and initiatives. He/She will manage all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality and risk) for Uptake space projects, including planning, design, construction, occupancy, internal communications, and closeout.

 

Duties Include:

 

  • Manages the programming, planning, design and construction for new construction, renovation, remodeling and maintenance projects from a project management prospective.
  • Responsible for budget management and record keeping for all projects. Works closely with accounting.
  • Prepares status reports as needed for all projects.
  • Ensures completion of projects, from first request through close out, in accordance with established standards, schedules and budget parameters.
  • Interfaces directly with the head of Facilities, and outside contractors and architects to define project requirements and support/drive execution.
  • Interfaces with Internal Communication to execute on change management initiatives related to space.
  • Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets and timelines.
  • Performs other Facilities duties as required.


ABILITIES:

 

  • Strong process skills, decision-making and analytical skills are necessary.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex space-related topics to colleagues, top management and/or external contractors.
  • Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and top management to take desired action.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships and respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

  • PMP (US and/or Canada) preferred. LEED AD a plus.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University in a technical area of study.
  • Minimum six years of related experience and/or training.
