We are currently looking for a Chicago-based Financial Application Support Engineer to support a rapidly growing environment. The regular schedule for this position will be 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Provides application support for front office, middle office and back office applications and users
- Facilitates communication between trading, infrastructure and software development teams
- Supports proprietary and third party systems
- Contributes to the engineering efforts to automate processes, monitor systems and improve software management on both Microsoft and Unix platforms.
- Communicates directly with exchanges, clearing members and ISV’s to resolve trading issues
- Releases and verifies new software packages to production
- Works with software development teams to improve, monitor and maintain internal systems
- Maintain enterprise scheduling, release and monitoring systems
Required Experience:
- 3+ years working in a Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop environment
- 3+ years working with Unix (CentOS and/or Ubuntu experience is a plus)
- Previous experience working in the trading industry (FCM, proprietary trading, hedge fund, exchange)
- Must be able to demonstrate technical problem solving skills
- Previous experience with scripting in multiple languages such as Python, Ruby, VBScript and Bash as well as parsing structured data protocols such as JSON, YAML and XML.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent documentation and knowledge management skills
