PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Are you a creative wunderkind? Is the written word your medium? Do you know what B2B and PSO mean? Are you a strategic thinker and interested in being part of a collaborative team focused on building brands and solving communications challenges for some of the biggest organizations in the world? As a Freelance Copywriter at One North, you’ll be responsible for working across our organization with our creative, brand and UX strategy teams, to generate and execute compelling and brand-focused content for our clients. Help us craft branded experiences and also build hard-working pieces of content. Collaborate with business leaders on turning business strategy into clear communications. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with our creative services team in determining the copy direction for client projects and internal communications
  • Deploy consistent tone, style and brand across various touch points
  • Convey a creative vision, with a consistent story, across all mediums of communication
  • Execute copy concepts that accomplish the client’s strategic objective
  • Clearly communicate the thinking and concepts behind your creative messages
  • Contribute unique perspectives in team brainstorm and concept creation sessions
  • Transform highly technical industry jargon into engaging copy that effectively excites the intended audience
  • Ensure your copy is within compliance of established brand guidelines
  • Synthesize and deliver ideas in a clear, client-focused direction
  • Contribute creative and strategic concepts to internal marketing and experience design teams

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  •  Experience writing for B2B, legal or other professional services organizations (PSOs)
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or related field
  • Excellent grasp of the written word, with a comfort in writing across various mediums
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to navigate digital copy decks efficiently
  • Fluency in modern media practices, particularly involving design and marketing concepts
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities at any given time
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and come to an optimal solution
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities
  • Passion for all things digital
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Location

Our office is located downtown Chicago at the corner of Franklin & Monroe streets. However, we're currently working together remotely.
