The Position:

Leapfrog Online is looking for a skilled front-end developer to join our UX competency; this role will implement and maintain high-volume consumer-facing websites and e-commerce applications.  Candidates should have 2+ years of experience with standards-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, preferably working with e-commerce and/or transactional websites.

Responsibilities:

- Build and maintain consumer-facing, customer service, and e-commerce applications

- Participating in the creation and construction of user experiences

- Performing ongoing quality assurance tests including functional testing and browser compatibility

- Regularly performing user experience, performance, and code optimization


Qualifications:

- A good problem-solver with an analytical mind and demonstrable understanding of modern development standards and practices.

- Strong experience in standards-based, cross-browser (down to IE8/9), multi-form factor web development, including responsive design techniques.

- Skilled in writing semantic, well-formed HTML markup.

- Skilled in writing elegant, truly cascading CSS to bring rich interfaces to life.

- Experience with CSS preprocessing (SASS) and frameworks (Susy, Bootstrap, etc.)

- Experience with common JavaScript frameworks and libraries (jQuery, Angular, etc.)

- Experience developing complex interactions in JavaScript with an eye on performance.

- Familiar with the development and maintenance of web-based applications using MVC design patterns.

- Experience with modular templating (Handlebars/Mustache, Nunjucks) in the context of content management.

- Experience with Node-based tooling and build systems (Gulp, Grunt)

- Comfortable with Git version control and using commandline interfaces (CLI)

- Comfortable with using image editing software (e.g. Photoshop)

- Detail-oriented, communicative, and able to effectively manage time and priorities.
