Global Sales Engineer Director

What You Do:
As a Solutions Engineer, you will build meaningful business relationships to drive adoption of the Uptake platform. You’ll educate employees and potential clients on Uptake’s offerings, deliver effective presentations and provide technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide sales technical assistance and product education to sales employees
- Deliver presentations to a wide audience (sales, partners, dealers and customers)
- Manage multiple sales requests and opportunities
- Liaise with vendors, partners, product managers and the development team to understand details of product direction and design and communicate information back to sales organization
- Stay informed of product roadmaps and understand the scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are applied to address business and technical problems
- Tailor communications and meeting materials to address business needs of potential clients as part of the pre-sales process
- Manage and interpret dealer/customer requirements and speak with them to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
- Respond to requests for information and requests for proposals
- Stay current on competitive analyses and understand competitive differentiation
- Coordinate requirements for Proof of Value or tailor-made solutions
- Develop and conduct transition plans in conjunction with sales and project managers
- Manage professional services quotes delivered to the sales team
- Articulate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and continually manage project expectations with team members
- Create Project Scope Narratives for customers and the implementation team
- Track sales engineering activity using Uptake’s CRM database
Qualifications:
- College degree in related field
- Strong presentation and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate technical and business information to widely varied audiences
- Relevant experience in technology sales and sales engineering in Cloud or SaaS solutions (pre-sales focused)
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand business processes, business problems and data relationships, and to demonstrate how data can be used to solve business problems
- Ability to multitask
- Flexibility when faced with unexpected situations, paired with the ability to proactively propose contingency plans
- Knowledge and experience of cloud-based solutions
Preferred skills:
- Experience with audio, web and video conferencing solutions, as well as data, visualization, integration and platform solutions
