Job Summary:

RedShelf is a higher-ed tech startup based in the heart of River North. Our main priority is to help transition learning materials, such as textbooks, from the current print products into much evolved digital eTextbooks. Over the past 4 years we have seen over 400% YOY growth. Our team currently consists of 45 incredibly talented RedShelfers but we need more talented team members to continue take on the amazing opportunities we have slated for 2017.

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and eager Graphic Designer looking to make an impact in a high growth company. The Graphic Designer will responsible for thinking creatively to produce latest ideas and innovative high quality graphic design using wide range of media product and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support RedShelf’s profitability efforts by focusing on the efficient, accurate and timely completion of the assigned creative design activities
  • Redesign and guide the creative strategy for the overall look-and-feel of the company's brand and product suite
  • Design all marketing collateral, i.e. banner ads, marketing collateral, web pages, trade show materials, email marketing assets, and demo videos
  • Edit and build responsive web pages
  • Act as a jack of all trades with photography, video, audio, editing, copywriting and other duties as needed
  • Meets quality standards for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to Management for improvements in creative design concepts, tools, processes and/or assigned tasks
  • Developing the ability to take a job from conception to completion
  • Ensures designs are within the specifications and concepts determined by the Director of Marketing
  • Perform other duties assigned by manager

Required Skills

  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Proficient in CSS/ HTML and UX/ UI standards
  • A trained design eye with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain brand standards
  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines, accept direction, embrace change while maintaining an open mind, positive attitude, and is flexible and adaptable in the face of ambiguity
  • Ability to clearly articulate your design recommendations through written, verbal and visual communication
  • Ability to identify areas of improvements in creative design concepts, tools, processes and/or assigned tasks
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking, acute attention to detail and self-discipline to review your own work
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an in-house designer, in an agency setting, or similar fast-paced, demanding environment with moderate supervision
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design preferred or equivalent creative art background with design capabilities
