Overview:

The Group Director (GD) is responsible for leading the activation teams and Performance Content (PC) department vision. The GD is also responsible for overseeing the cross channel service delivery and integration for clients, including paid search, display, social, mobile, and video. The GD will manage and direct PC teams, including Content Directors, Content Managers, and Associate Content Managers.

The GD is the senior supervisor accountable for the implementation of practice area executions, including search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing (production/publication), and conversion optimization (CO), as well as ensuring seamless delivery of best practice and processes. Proven account management and team leadership experience is essential, along with experience in online marketing and digital media.

Role Objectives:

Account Development

  • Develops, manages, and monitors client service delivery executions of the assigned accounts
  • Oversees process development and execution management
  • Leads PC client services and contributes to departmental vision
  • Assures quality control of all strategic planning, delivery, and implementation
  • Drives PC activation staffing, recruiting, employee retention, and motivation
  • Owns, defines, and enforces client service standards
  • Creates service consistency across all client accounts
  • Ensures Junior staff continue to grow and progress to fill more senior roles in conjunction with account growth
  • Owns departmental financial forecasting/revenue retention and margin evaluation
  • New business support, cross-agency support, and cross-sell support
  • Client escalation point of contact
  • Training and mentoring of Content Director staff; Skills management for PC practice area activation staff; spot training and mentoring of Associate Content Managers/Content Managers staff
  • Coordinates efforts across different digital media channels to drive optimized recommendations.

  • Forecasts overall departmental resource needs based on client pool and budgets
  • Excellent ability to handle client/personnel issues
  • Experience creating and launching new service offerings
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully participate in new business situations and new client on-boarding

Team Leadership & Development

  • Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity
  • Motivates, leads, and manages internal teams, working collaboratively to drive programs that meet our clients’ performance and business objectives
  • Drives adoption of stated account management best practices through example setting, positive reinforcement and behavioral correction
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members
  • Conducts performance reviews and career path plans for direct reports
  • Provide training in cross-discipline planning to their directs reports and sub-teams
  • Assists with team leadership on the evolution of PC practice delivery and product enhancement

Process Improvement

  • Facilitates the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group

Cross-Selling

  • Understands and explains the features and benefits of all Performics products and services
  • Support Client Solutions with cross sells of products and services to grow Performics’ share of marketing spend
  • Exceeds semi-annual and annual revenue targets
  • Supports business development sales in selling solutions as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred
  • 7-10 years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or SEO; client and agency experience preferred
  • 4 years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people
  • 2-4 years of digital marketing preferred with desirable focus on search engines, display and/or social media
  • Experience in managing an organization
  • Demonstrated understanding of online marketing principles
  • High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work independently and balance multiple tasks
