Head of Growth Marketing, Individual Investor
The Head of Growth Marketing for the Individual Investor business unit at Morningstar will be responsible for creating user and net subscriber growth for our direct to consumer products across the U.S., Australia, Canada and the U.K. This will be a hands-on, player/coach role, leading a team 5+ marketers. We are looking for a leader with a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. Digital product managers will work with the marketing team, supporting teams (such as engineers), and vendors to launch campaigns on time and on budget. You should also be able to integrate traditional direct mail campaigns across digital strategies.
What You Will Do
• Transform our marketing strategy, tactics and team to a more robust digital-first future
• Develop and manage a new customer acquisition and lifetime value framework/model to enable the unit to maximize its growth ambitions for users, subscribers and revenue
• Create a clear and compelling marketing strategy (activation, upsell, engagement, retention and winback) and evangelize the plan across the business unit and company
• Create, manage and optimize engaging, strategic, and effective marketing campaigns (including organic and paid social media, content, SEO/SEM, email marketing, webinars, and website initiatives)
• Rigorously test, analyze, and optimize marketing content, channels and campaigns, developing sound testing methodologies making incisive recommendations
• Significantly increase subscriber acquisition and reduce subscriber churn
• Partner with product management, engineering and design teams to create seamless customer on-boarding, engagement and retention experiences
• Partner with the global marketing and corporate communications to position Morningstar effectively to end investors
• Create and manage third-party partnerships and vendor relationships for improved effectiveness and efficiency
• Provide marketing support for our audience sales team and business
• Collaborate with other business unit marketers to drive qualified leads through segmentation and management of the Morningstar.com site and database
• Confidently present strategies, plans and results to the operating committee and board of directors

• Adaptable and flexible within a fast-moving, dynamic and often-shifting business environment
• Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply
• Experience or ability to work effectively within regulated markets
• Bachelor’s degree with MBA preferred
