Company Overview

This highly nimble, $200MM privately held retailer backed by a billion dollar organization, is seeking a head of marketing to scale this consumer business by driving online and store traffic across the US. This established retailer experienced 30% growth just last year and is poised for double digit growth over the next 4-5 years.

Position Overview

As the new Vice President of Marketing, you will be the organization’s key marketing executive in leading this trend setting, fashion forward retailer to double digit growth over the next several years. You will oversee a staff of 30 and a marketing budget of $26MM. You will set the vision for the brand and establish the online and in-store growth strategy through effective branding, lead generation, customer acquisition and award winning creative that drives results.

Position Responsibilities

·      Oversee the planning, development and execution of the $26MM integrated marketing budget with a result oriented, direct marketing approach

·      Develop quarterly marketing plans, localized for regional needs, while driving execution of in season programs and creative development across North America

·      Work cross-functionally with leaders in business operations, finance, product and merchandising

·      Stand as the chief of campaign ideation driven by a company wide data measurement strategy to drive high performance digital media campaigns

·      Own the voice of the brand and overall content strategy across web, mobile, social media, video, SEM/SEO, email, direct mail, partnerships and in-store

·      Translate branding goals into brand plans, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies for existing and new store locations

·      Lead the success of the organization’s online customer acquisition and loyalty efforts

·      Present key insights to the Managing Director, CEO & Chairman

·      Leverage analytics to drive consumer insights and incorporate the findings into the creative process

·      Actively support a progressive data & adtech plan and implement

·      Approve creative direction and design of compelling and effective traditional and digital advertising targeting trend setters and the fashion forward consumer

·      Develop grand opening go-to-market strategies and marketing plans 


·      Explore traffic patterns across the various stores and relative to the competition

·      Develop comprehensive channel strategy (web, mobile, social media, search, email) for both corporate retail and ecommerce

·      Oversee social engagement strategy including Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, YouTube, etc.

·      Identify and develop strategic partnerships in efforts to continue elevating the brand among millennials and the broader target audience 

·      Build out CRM and planning to advance customer engagement - segmentation, targeting, personalization, frequency, etc.

·      Drive a collection of advertising, marketing, creative and PR agency partners forward

Position Qualifications

·      Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field; MBA a plus

·      10+ years measurable marketing experience; 7+ years digital experience preferred

·      2+ years retail experience preferred  

·      Aspiration to scale a business and build a leading consumer brand in its category

·      Ability to effectively work cross-functionally with operations, product, merchandising & finance

  • Demonstrated ability to identify data-driven insights 

·      A strong understanding and interest to drive new digital solutions

·      Experience leveraging programmatic solutions and progressive adtech platforms

·      Must have an entrepreneurial drive and the ability to work in the gray 

·      Experience communicating the vision and value of marketing to other senior executives and functional areas 

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills a must

·      Personal interest in fashion, pop culture and consumer trends
