 GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the HR team you will provide hands-on, proactive, high quality support on talent acquisition, onboarding, retention and turnover, performance management, pay and benefits administration, metrics reporting, total rewards recognition, employee relations and employee engagement issues.

The individual must be able to handle multiple priorities and communicate objectively and confidently. The HR Generalist will have exposure to sensitive and confidential information necessitating diplomacy, discretion and sound judgment. 

As the Human Resources Generalist on our Chicago team, you’ll be the point of contact for employees on day-to-day HR related matters. As a successful candidate, you’ll be dedicated to creating an exceptional employee experience and enjoy working within the different aspects of human resources.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARENT LIMITED TO:

This position provides the opportunity to work on a variety of HR projects that include management of key initiatives, reporting and analysis, process improvement, and generalist responsibilities including but not limited to:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding – partner with hiring managers and members of the HR team to hire top talent. Manage, coach and work side-by-side with HR associate in all areas of full cycle recruiting, including managing and attending local job fairs, campus recruiting events and other offsite events to promote the company. Manage and enhance employment brand by managing social media presence. Lead and continue to develop new hire orientation and facilitate employee onboarding program

Talent Management – Manage performance reviews and performance improvement processes for all employees; ensure consistent application of corporate policies and procedures. Work with hiring managers on succession planning. Coordinate and drive internal learning & development opportunities and training. Facilitate internal training as needed.

Compensation and Benefits – provide leadership for the annual compensation process and troubleshoot issues. Participate in the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment. Answer employee benefits questions, and help solve enrollment and/or coverage issues.

Employee Relations & Engagement - Partner closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Organize & lead employee engagement activities for both HR and within the companywide social committee. Engage in project work and drive initiatives related to our culture, vision, mission and core values, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Understand and champion change through understanding, communication and messaging.

HRIS Support– Effectively utilize tools and technology and ensure employee data integrity and adherence to processes. Provide end user systems support, administration and training tools for Ultipro, Replicon, Glint, Payscale, and other systems as required.

HR Operations, Compliance & Reporting – Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations. Manage the Affirmative Action Program ensuring compliance with all EEO and OFCCP guidelines—including diversity outreach, community efforts, job postings, reporting, and records maintenance. Prepare and submit HR dashboards, ad hoc reports, and required reports including, EEO-1 reporting, 5500, ACA, SOX, etc. Recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and support the human resources needs of the organization. Assist the CFO in assuring ongoing compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

Other HR related projects as needed.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Minimum Skills & Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, including management and/or coaching experience

·         Demonstrated competence and interest in full cycle recruiting, including outreach and campus recruiting

·         Possesses functional process knowledge covering multiple HR functions.

·         Proven ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality concerning employees, business and other sensitive information

·         Demonstrated experience using technology to deliver HR processes

·         Demonstrated Interpersonal Savvy - Relates well to all kinds of people—up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; is seen as a trusted, truthful individual.

·         Proven ability to thrive in a growing, changing environment and work independently

·         Critical thinker and able to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently

·         Must be able to lift and carry 20+ pounds and work on your feet for substantial periods of time.

·         Must be flexible with start and end time and willing to go on day and overnight recruiting and networking events (travel 5-10%).

·         Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

·         PHR, SPHR Certifications preferred.

·         Experience with Ultipro HRIS

·         Experience recruiting entry-level inside sales representatives from both college campus fairs and job boards.

·         Experience in a growing SaaS and/or Technology Company.
