We’re seeking an experienced, energetic HR Generalist/Business Partner to support our Technology and Marketing teams. The People Team at GrubHub is solutions-oriented, resourceful and passionate about shaping an innovative and diner-obsessed culture in a high growth, fast-paced tech environment.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a generalist role providing cross functional HR support in a technology organization with responsibility for employee relations, performance management, talent management and recruiting.
In this role, you’ll:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Technology and Marketing teams, provide input in HR related areas to support the attainment of the teams’ business objectives
- Coach managers and leaders through performance management discussions, employee relations issues , and promotion / transfer / coaching discussions, provide partnership when necessary
- Act as trusted resource for leaders and employees on a wide variety of human resources topics including career development, benefits, leaves of absence, employee investigations and policy interpretation
- Participate in and lead HR/People Team projects as needed including, but not limited to, performance management, data analysis, creating and recommending enhancements to HR processes and programs, and support for cross functional team initiatives
- Lead employee engagement initiatives within the Tech and Marketing teams and more broadly across GrubHub
- Provide guidance and support to the People Team on HR compliance topics such as employment law, current legislation and current HR practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (major or coursework in HR preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience in a high growth technology environment
- Experienced with the nuts and bolts of HR including benefits, talent management, performance management, legal compliance (EEO, unemployment, FMLA, ADA)
- Passion for working with managers and employees to resolve issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Sense of urgency and a bias to action
- Self-motivated; able to work independently with an understanding of when to escalate issues
- Confident in handling ambiguity, have an abundance of common sense and a sense of pragmatism
