Human Resources Branding & Communications Leader
The Team: The Corporate team unites a variety of functions at Morningstar and each plays an essential role in supporting our company’s infrastructure, day-to-day operations and ongoing strategic initiatives. The Human Resources team focuses on creating opportunity, balancing rewards and fostering a unique culture for our employees to help drive the highest level of engagement and productivity. By helping Morningstar employees succeed we contribute to Morningstar’s success.
The Role: For this role, we need a leader who will be focused on elevating our internal (employer) brand and promoting all our HR programs offered to employees in a unified way – to deliver a positive employee experience that aligns with our employee value proposition and reinforces Morningstar as a great place to work. To achieve this, he or she will create, establish, and maintain (1) our employer brand, (2) a thoughtful strategy and communications operating model that integrates Morningstar’s brand, culture, employee value proposition, and human resources programs, and (3) the ongoing execution of our HR communication programs. This position is based in Chicago and is a part of the HR leadership team while working collaboratively across the Human Resources, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Marketing functions.
Responsibilities
• Create, establish, and maintain a global HR brand and strategic employer brand identity that aligns with Morningstar’s employee value proposition
• Create, establish, and maintain an ongoing HR marketing program that creates awareness and utilization across all HR programs offered to employees, in a unified way that is clearly connected to the HR brand and employee value proposition and reinforces Morningstar as a great place to work
• Create, establish, and maintain an HR change management process that identifies future changes that will impact employees, identifies and engages relevant stakeholders, and plans and executes activities for seamless change
• Bring a creative marketing mindset to promoting Morningstar’s brand, culture, employee value proposition, and human resources programs
• Establish and build collaborative working relationships with key individuals and teams in HR, marketing, communications, and across the company to deliver on responsibilities
• Link Morningstar’s business objectives with internal brand plans and programs while leveraging pulse, employee engagement, and other employee insight mechanisms to determine needs and priorities
Requirements
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in brand marketing, communications, human resources, or related field
• Proven knowledge and experience in all of the following areas and at least 5 years of in-depth experience in at least one of the following areas: brand marketing, employee communications, change management, and human resources program management (i.e talent management, learning & development, employee rewards and employee relations, etc.)
• Exceptional writing and communication skills – visual thinkers a plus, design skills, and knowledge and utilization of communication channels
• Successful track record in establishing a vision on a strategic level and then driving and executing it with a “hands on” approach
• Proven ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment, including managing multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work both collaboratively and on an independent basis
