Human Resources Coordinator

The position reports to the Talent Acquisition and Development Manager and will be based in our Headquarters in The River North neighborhood of Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Processes employment applications and supports other employment activities, such as sourcing and screening applicants, coordinating and scheduling interviews, and conducting phone and in-person interviews
- Reports recruiting activity to the Hiring Managers and Leadership Team
Onboarding
- Submits requests for background checks and previous employment verification to third party vendor; issues pre-adverse and adverse action letters as needed
- Coordinates new hire orientation
- Ensures completion of all new hire paperwork
- Creates new employee personnel files
People Operations
- Touches all aspects of the employee lifecycle including but not limited to:
- Recruiting, Onboarding, Orientation, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, and Exit.
- Reports on all aspects of employee life cycle
- Leverages organizational skills to contribute to a variety of internal initiatives
Benefit and Payroll Coordination
- Point of contact for “Tier 1” issues related to eligibility coverage and benefit matters
- Collect and ensure accuracy of benefit submissions for new hires and qualifying life events
- Assist in coordinating the annual open enrollment process and events
- Resolve administrative errors with the carriers as needed
- Help update benefit communications such as Wiki page, ongoing communications and Benefits Guide
- Other duties as required and assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- 2 years’ experience in Human Resources; experience in a start-up organization, technology industry, or client services required.
- Experience utilizing HRIS and ATS systems
- Solid proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
