SMS Assist is hiring an Internal Communication Manager!

We have grown rapidly in the past few years. In the midst of growth sometimes communications internally can get lost in the chaos. That’s why we need you, our Internal Communication Manager.

We are looking for an Internal Communication Manager to join our team. As the Internal Communication Manager you will drive the employee communications strategy, implementation and measurement. You will be responsible for connecting all employees on the happenings at SMS Assist. That includes creating the communication structure, crafting & delivering each message, owning the company internal portal and more. As our Internal Communication Manager you will build relationships with each department and completely understand the inner workings of SMS Assist. Once you’ve done your research internally, you will deliver the key-messages company-wide in a compelling, creative and engaging way. In addition, as the Internal Communication Manager you will also work with the marketing team to develop the strategy for spreading select internal messages externally.

We are looking for our Internal Communication Manager to be a bit disruptive – willing to question the way things are done and implement new tactics. We require someone who understands that different messages, need varying tones and personalities in order to be effective. We need someone who, in all honesty, has a way with words.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of our Internal Communication Manager:

  • Manage the daily operations of communications programs within the organization.
  • Partner with internal departments to create & deliver messaging
  • Develop and own our internal communication and social media strategy
  • Assist with implementing and apply our brand narrative and guidelines internally and externally
  • Create the overarching structure for sending and relaying internal messaging
  • Devise and execute communication strategies to enhance our employees unique voice to engender engagement
  • Be “in-the-know” with the day-to-day at SMS Assist; Attend meetings, review recaps, etc. and deliver information to the respective parties
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding company performance, future direction, or corporate or human resource policies
  • Strategically and accurately distribute information in a timely manager
  • Deliver creative alternatives for sending messages including, but not limited to: videos, flyers, hot air balloons (Okay, this might not be in the budget, but you get the idea)
  • Manage the content of brochures, handbooks, memos or emails
  • Act as a liaison with the public relations or corporate communications department

Qualifications for the Internal Communication Manager:

  • 4 – 7 years of experience in the Communications field
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across seniority levels and different business functions
  • Excellent communicator with ability to create effective written, oral and web content
  • Demonstrated experience in brand, internal and external communications, campaign planning, implementation and measurement
  • Fluency in using web-based and social media communications platforms
  • Basic knowledge of web development; you should be able to explain what you want even if you can’t code it
  • Design capabilities to create internal materials
