Summary

The Java / ETL Developer will be responsible for expanding the existing Java-based ETL system that gathers data from 13 advertising platforms for over 100 clients into our mySQL data warehouse which the BI team analyzes using Tableau and other tools. The number of platforms and clients are growing rapidly and we are expanding our team. Upcoming initiatives include migrating from MySQL to Microsoft SQL Server 2016, integrating SSIS with the Java ETL, and expanding the ETL management toolset

Responsibilities

- Expand, enhance, harden, and support our Java-based ETL system which gathers data from APIs and scheduled reports and includes a client account credential management subsystem

- Evaluate and master API access for those digital marketing platforms that offer them

- Improve and support the FTP, sFTP and email paths for incoming data files for those platforms without APIs

Requirements and Qualifications

- 2+ years Java SE development experience

- 2+ years database development experience

- Experience in extracting, transforming, and loading data from disparate sources into a consolidated target environment
- Experience with updating code base with constantly evolving social media and digital advertising API systems

- Experience using IntelliJ IDE & Maven Repository

- Experience using Gradle or other build tools

- Experience using jOOQ or other Java/SQL abstraction layers

- Experience with Spark or other lightweight web frameworks to develop ETL management tools

- MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server coding skills to support ETL and testing data quality

- Bash shell scripting skills
- Adventurous and willing to learn new tools and platforms as we scale the data warehouse to meet the rapid growth of the company

- Experience in SSIS and/or Microsoft SQL Server administration is a plus

- Digital marketing industry experience a plus
