As Aeris continues to grow, we are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join our growing Connectivity Platform development team in our Chicago, IL office.  In this role, you will collaborate with development and product management teams to develop and build our Connectivity Platform, the core of Aeris business. You will work the complete stack: front-end, back-end, web services, and etc.! Are you up for the challenge?

• You will collaborate with development and product management teams to develop and build our Connectivity Platform, the core of Aeris business
• You will directly work with internal / external partners and customers to determine requirements, features, etc.
• You have the opportunity to explore new technologies to build the next generation of our Connectivity Platform
• You are involved in all phases of software life cycle and make significant contribution to the team

• You have your Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline and at least 3 years of industry experience
• You have an excellent understanding of concepts and fundamentals of Java and computer science including multi-threading, memory management and web services
• You are knowledgeable of Core Java (1.6/1.7/1.8) and related tools
• You have experience using Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and Message Queues
• You are a self-starter, assertive, well organized, and have precise attention to detail as well as excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
• You are experienced and knowledgeable of databases – both relational and none and have worked with large-scale production systems
• You enjoy leading and working with geographically distributed teams
• You have used AJAX based websites, JavaScript, JSON in previous projects
• Effective and collaborative verbal and written communication a must
• You enjoy working in the Agile methodology and experience working with test driven development

• You have developed in Node.JS
• You have recent experience using Angular, Backbone or any other similar frameworks
• You have a great understanding of docker and docker deployments
• You have Telecom-related product experience
• You can understand and debug in an Amazon Web Services environment
