As a Lead Designer at Civis...
You’ll ensure that great design is a primary consideration in our product development. You’ll lead a team of three designers who work collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, and product managers in a new category of software.. You’ll be welcomed by coworkers who focus on function over form and who will value your ability to shape how we present ourselves through great software interfaces. Your ability to coach and motivate will be key as you and your team accomplish your goals.
Build incredible user experiences and a best-in-class user interface
Here, you will use wireframes, design specs, and other tools in your design arsenal. You'll be working on a variety of design challenges and will be involved in early stage research, ideation, implementation, and iteration. Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, a related subject, or equivalent work experience
- Conversant in front-end technologies: CSS and HTML
- Experience in practicing a user-centered design approach to software products
- 10+ years of professional work experience
- Strong understanding of responsive web design principles
- Strong proficiency with design related software
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
- A portfolio of representative work demonstrating the above skills
- Graduate degree in Design, HCI, a related subject, or equivalent work experience
- Experience designing and conducting user studies and usability testing
- Experience leading rapid prototyping exercises
- Experience implementing a unified design system
- Extensive work experience and portfolio
- Experience with user interviewing and usability testing
- Previous experience bringing a new software product to marketInterest/experience in data visualization
