CloudSpotter operates next generation event photography services throughout the Midwest under what is often the more recognizable name of SpotMyPhotos. Additionally, CloudSpotter provides the behind-the-scenes engine powering a variety of other photo sharing solutions used by event industry professionals, organizations, and people like you. 

Role

The Lead Full Stack Software Engineer will be confronting new challenges that are pushing the realm of possibilities for photo sharing today. We are looking for an engineer to lead the design and development of several key systems and projects alongside our CEO and key investors as we deploy our platform through a national network of partners. 

Responsibilities

• Drive development and design of company systems
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate new ideas or illustrate the use of new technologies and how to apply it to our platform
• Perform regular design and code reviews; participate in debugging and coding to resolve issues
• Strive for top quality results and constantly look for ways to improve and enhance system reliability, performance, and security
• Solve problems and participate in team strategy meetings on a regular basis

Skills and Requirements

Think you're up for the challenge? This is what we need from you:

• Proficient in Python (Django) or Ruby (Rails)
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience preferred, working in an agile environment on projects with strict requirements, high availability (HA), fault-tolerance and scalability
• Strong computer science fundamentals (algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis)

We'd prefer you also have the skills below:

• Hands-on experience building large-scale infrastructural data systems
• Strong table tennis or beer pong skills
• Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS/Jquery/AJAX
• Strong background in HTTP, networking and security
• Proficient video game player, preferably having logged experience with classic systems such as Nintendo, as well as more modern consoles.
• Familiarity with Elastic Search and Memcache
• Excellent proficiency with *NIX development environments
• Proficiency in Git (Preferred) or SVN
• Familiarity with automation testing tools

Compensation

Total compensation will vary depending on the candidate’s technical experience, industry experience, and risk/reward tolerance.
