Job Objective

The Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for the configuration and support of our Linux technology infrastructure. They will serve as a member of the Operations group providing on-site support at the main office as well as our datacenters.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, installation, support, and configuration of Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS) and associated services.
Monitor and respond to alerts from the technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper SLA's are met.
Work with a team providing capacity planning and make recommendation on new equipment and services.
Actively monitor the issue tracking system and address/resolve outstanding issues.

General Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in information technology/computer science or equivalent experience.
Detail oriented.
Great communication skills.
Flexibility - We are growing and we need to continue to change to help the company grow.
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to document work associated with troubleshooting.

Technical Requirements

4-5 years of expertise in Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS)
Experience building and maintaining IP-based networks (Cisco)
Experience setting up and maintaining server and application monitoring (Nagios)
Experience in managing MTAs such as Postfix and Qmail
Scripting experience (bash, perl, python, ruby, etc). Ability to automate routine tasks.
Experience with F5 Load balancers (iRule experience a plus)
Configuration management experience (Puppet a big plus)
Experience with VMWare (ESXi, clustering), a plus.
MySQL Experience, also a plus.
