What You’ll Do:

As Manager of Compensation and Benefits, you will be an integral member of our People (HR) Team. In partnership with HR, Finance and Recruiting, you will ensure the development, implementation and management of cost-effective compensation and benefit programs designed to attract, retain and reward high caliber talent, all while meeting business goals and strategic objectives within our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to HR programs, including benefits, compensation, open enrollment, employee relations and employee onboarding
  • Manage all benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, executive benefits, rewards and recognition
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of employee compensation (including pay-for-performance, market competitiveness, internal equity and differentiation) and develop and implement necessary local corrective action plans
  • Provide value added compensation data analysis to facilitate management and HR decision-making
  • Make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Maintain responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
  • Communicate changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensure proper compliance is followed
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of compensation
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the SVP, People on personnel matters
  • Develop and maintain a human resource system that meets personnel information needs
  • Participate on committees and special projects

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Compensation & Benefits experience
  • Experience in designing and administering new incentive programs
  • Knowledge of working with equity as part of a total rewards program
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll tax and benefits plans
  • Experience creating and implementing HR processes at a startup or growing company
  • Experience with payroll operations
  • Experience clarifying and explaining employee equity incentives
  • Knowledge of core HR disciplinary functions (benefits, employee relations, coaching, compensation, performance management and training) and employment law
  • Financial management and time tracking experience
  • Proven ability to evaluate, develop and coach employees
  • Ability to influence others/garner buy-in without direct authority
  • Experience with organizational design and change management
  • Experience with leadership coaching
  • Must be an independent, self-starter who takes initiative and can work autonomously as well as within a team
  • Ability to stay cool under pressure
  • Collaborative, resourceful and proactive approach to building trusting relationships
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
