Manager, Project Management

 

What we are looking for:

 

Vail is seeking a self-motivated, SDLC savvy "software", and methodology astute manager to lead a team of project managers responsible for the project life-cycle management of Vail's products, services, and R&D initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

 

- Lead and develop a team of project managers, instruct the team on project specific assignments, and ensure proper process/methodologies are followed.

- Implement and enhance project management practices to optimize project delivery.

- Ensure projects are being executed in accordance to established business objectives and within budget.

- Manage resource forecasting and allocation across cross functional teams

- Monitor for potential collisions between project resources and implement remediation plans to address conflicts.

- Provide visibility and reporting on all active projects including progress, risk and quality metrics.

- Complete project post-mortems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective measures.

- Act as primary escalation point for all project related resource conflicts, risks and issues

- Create team/individual development plans and complete performance assessments.

- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

 

What we need to see from you:

 

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field

- 7+ years in a Project, Product, Software Development, or Technological position.

- 3+ years of experience leading teams of Project Managers or equivalent

- Exceptional Project Management skills

- Demonstrated success handling initiatives of high complexity

- Collaborative/Partnership skills where taking a team approach to achieve success is preferred

- Strong Leadership skills with ability to inspire teams

- Proven ability to make sound decisions and deliver results through strong execution

- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences

- Strong listening, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills

 

 

Bonus points for:

 

- Telecom knowledge or work experience

- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or Alfresco

- Certification in PMP, Agile, or other Project Management Methodologies
