Manager of Strategy and Operations
Job Description
The Manager of VMO Strategy & Operations will serve as an integral business strategy and operations lead within the GoHealth VMO (Virtual Marketing Organization) business unit to drive process improvements, foster relationships with key producers, and source, scope, and vet potential strategic deals.

Project and Team Management
- Manage a team of 3 Account Managers, who each manage 4-6 key VMO producers
- Own all performance management, reviews, mentoring, and mentoring/coaching of direct reports
- Serve as primary point of contact on VMO’s cross-functional projects, including: Operations, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Consumer Marketing
- Coordinate new carrier vetting and delegate onboarding tasks to direct reports
Operations / Process Improvement
- Document existing VMO processes through diagrams and flow charts
- Decrease cycle time and/or remove costs from legacy processes
- Create net new processes to support new partner onboarding, deal sourcing, and other key operational areas
Strategy
- Continuously evaluate the market in the pursuit of untapped opportunities: carriers, product lines, partners, sales strategies, and business models
- Create proposals and models to support new VMO partner pursuits and carrier fundraising efforts
- Prioritize new carrier/product additions, balancing market demand and sales lift with processing requirements and operational bandwidth
Financial Planning and Quantitative Analysis
- Quantify growth and cost saving opportunities through a variety of models; own all financial and operational modeling for the VMO business area
- Work with the Finance and Business Development teams to liaise cross-unit and scope potential producer deals that align with overall GoHealth financials
- Design dashboards that reflect financial and operational KPIs
- Determine the top- and bottom-line impact of proposed strategies
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of work experience with a top-tier management consulting, venture capital, private equity firm, or other business strategy/operations role
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Prior job experience managing small teams with direct reports
- Health insurance industry experience strongly preferred, but not required
- Professional and motivated self-starter, with ability to operate in ambiguous environment
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to mentor and improve team members
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, exciting, and performance-driven environment
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree required (ideally from top-tier school)
