What You'll Do:

The Market Intelligence Analyst supports strategic planning activities by assessing markets and competitors in the IoT/predictive analytics field and providing recommendations. She/he will identify and collect appropriate customer, competitor, market, economic, financial and/or operational data; perform financial, statistical and qualitative data analysis; and translate that analysis into executable and effective market and intelligence reports. The Analyst will be able to create a broad picture of the company’s existing market, customers, problems, competition, and growth potential. It’s essential that this person can tell a compelling story through data.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and updates comprehensive industry, competitor and customer models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces.
  • Performs thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors.
  • Provides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to senior executives to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
  • Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key internal business vertical leads to identify emerging needs and business challenges for existing and future customers.
  • Collaborates internally to ensure intelligence is shared with appropriate groups and individuals.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Aptitude for synthesizing information from many sources and the ability to interpret and simplify competitive market intelligence data for others – and provide recommendations
  • A storyteller
  • Expertise and background in industry and/or technology
  • Appetite for knowledge and inherent curiosity
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a broad team
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within a rapidly growing company
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year experience with market intelligence, data analytics, market research or sales reporting.

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
