REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports To: Sr. Marketing Manager, Marketing & Communications

Positions Supervised: N/A

 

  POSITION  PURPOSE:

The Graphic Designer is responsible for the concept, design and development of web and print marketing materials; Maintains knowledge of design industry standards and application of such to promote brand awareness.

The Graphic Designer works directly with Vice President of Marketing, Marketing Communications, Digital Media Specialist, Graphic Designers, Sales, Product, Support Staff, and Executives in an effort to design solutions for the company communication needs.

  • Promotes high level adoption of corporate standards throughout all visual communications
  • Designs, develops and produces high-­?quality designs for internal and external communication
  • Communicates with Vice President of Marketing and marketing team to determine the best design solution for clients.
  • Responsible for the marketing of company products and services.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Web/HTML Design 

  • Corporate and team websites and web pages
  • Property marketing web sites and web pages
  • Custom graphics and icons
  • Web banner ads
  • HTML emails

Print Design

  • New Business or market overview presentations
  • Ads for trade journals
  • New business proposals
  • Brochures
  • Flyers
  • Newsletters
  • Invitations

Video & Photography

  • Video editing and creation from stock and/or custom video
  • Create photo concepts and direct photo shoots in our on-­?site photography studio

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate core competencies in the following areas:

  • Ability to design for all mediums including web and print.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript/Action Script and website development
  • Understanding of basic search engine optimization techniques
  • Understanding of color conversion for web and print, as well as optimization and sizing for web graphics.
  • Expert in printing requirements/techniques such as bleeds, crop marks, color conversions, etc. for proper delivery of jobs to service bureaus for printing.
  • Proficient with file formats, such as TIF, EPS, JPG and PDF, and how to create/edit them.
  • Proficiency in skills such as scanning, image-­retouching and color correction.
  • Ensure that mechanical specs are accurately applied, such as job slug, size and color.
  • Strong multi-­?tasking abilities and project management abilities
  • Strong written and communications skills, solid presentation and client relation’s expertise.
  • Intuitive design sense for improving and extending the company’s branding standards and recognizing branding opportunities to effectively expand the company’s position in the marketplace
  • Ability to develop a theme/concept in a compelling and effective manner meeting the project requirements and client expectations
  • Ability to work on multiple accounts and support several creative teams

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design or the arts
  • A minimum of three years graphic design experience as well as creativity
