 Description

The Digital Media Planner/Buyer also contributes to Havas Media's knowledge base by creating and sharing case studies, POVs and seminar/conference summaries, as well as maintain constant communications with traffic, production and creative departments within our clients' and partners' organizations.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment conducting media planning research using standard tools (e.g., @Plan, AdRelevance, etc.) and other emerging technologies.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment developing digital media plans, recommendations and POVs.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment negotiating, tracking and placing digital media ads.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment analyzing cost and effectiveness of various digital media channels.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment developing efficient and effective buying strategies for digital media across multiple channels based on client objectives.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment issuing and updating insertion orders.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment trafficking ad tags and creative using 3rd party as server tools (DFA/Mediaplex).
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment analyzing campaign performance and recommend necessary optimizations.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in providing market analysis and other reports to clients.
  • Mentors and trains Assistant Planners.
  • Collaborates with clients and media control team members and planners to resolve billing issues.
  • Resolves media invoice and ad service fee discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

                        Analytical and Research Knowledge

  • Ability to judge and quantify results of advertising (i.e., understand true value of ROI, understand/describe impact of results, compare actual results to needs of client/product) and know what to do with this information (i.e., how to optimize placements, which promotions to recommend, etc.).
  • Well versed in brand measurement tools (e.g., Insight Express, Dynamic Logic, Vizu, Dimestore), including vendor analysis, implementation, and results analysis.
  • Experience with third-party competitive tools (e.g., Compete, comScore, AdGooRoo).
  • Expertise with ad serving tools (e.g., DFA) and Web analytics tools (e.g., Omniture and Google Analytics), including campaign trafficking, tag creation/implementation, and QA/troubleshooting.

Education & Background Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication or Business.
  • Required prior academic and professional experience:
  • 1 to 3 years of online media planning and buying experience.
    • Experience demonstrating strong computer skills including online media research and planning tools: DoubleClick DFA, Nielsen-Net ratings, and other applications such as Excel and Lotus Notes.
  • Experience demonstrating strong customer service orientation, excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving, and, decision-making skills.
  • Experience demonstrating ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced technology-oriented environment.
  • Preferred experience:
  • Experience with offline media.
  • Expertise with CPA and Affiliate programs.
