What you'll be doing:

Our Medical Products Specialists are on the front lines of the battle to reduce costs and improve the quality of healthcare. They conduct fundamental diligence on the products that our health system customers evaluate, leveraging resources from the FDA, CMS, peer-reviewed journals, device suppliers, and other third parties to generate content that helps health systems and physicians make better device purchasing and utilization decisions. They work as a team in a fast-paced environment and support Senior Medical Products Specialists in overseeing daily operations of the research team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collect, structure, and maintain product-specific data from various sources, including health systems, vendors, academia, and public filings.
  • Apply critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness to make key decisions pertaining to data discovery and acquisition and product categorization.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of data requirements of health system administrators and clinicians across a broad set of medical-surgical products and physician preference items.
  • Begin to develop and demonstrate expertise in medical service lines, procedures, and device components.
  • Work with superiors to critically evaluate and summarize academic research and clinical trials and communicate implications to both clinical and administrative key decision makers.
  • Communicate with health systems and medical device manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Design an algorithmic approach to information acquisition and product research.
  • Integrate information into our proprietary software and MySQL databases.

Qualifications:

  • MA, MD, or PhD degree from top-tier university
  • GPA of 3.5 (out of 4) or higher
  • Biomedical engineering or natural science concentration
  • Prior work experience at a healthcare provider or medical technology company preferred
  • Demonstrated keen interest in healthcare and medical technology
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and managerial skills
  • High degree of competence in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with relational database applications like MySQL
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
