About the Team

The Network Security Engineer will support security for the global wide area network, unified communications (VoIP), remote offices, and perimeter devices. This position requires someone who has multifaceted skill sets and who can manage multiple initiatives/tasks. This person must be able to provide clear written/verbal communications to management and users.

Your Responsibilities

The Network Security Engineer will be a key contributor in the administration and support of the corporate security network infrastructure to meet growth and service reliability requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners on all information security tasks
  • Manage network cybersecurity controls to ensure they are operational, optimized and monitored
  • Perform design and configuration changes to ensure network security is implemented in accordance with company standards and PCI compliance requirements
  • Execute tasks/fulfill responsibilities associated with incident response support
  • Provide support for resolving network/VOIP/firewall/VPN related issues including cloud hosted solutions as needed
  • Prepare and update network security documentation including diagrams, standard build documents and best practice procedures
  • Train staff to understand security impacts and principles

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience analyzing / configuring security for Cisco or Meraki devices including switches and firewalls
  • Demonstrated successful implementation and management of security controls like access management, malware detection, perimeter defense and log management / review
  • Understanding of prevention, detection, response and recovery principles of security
  • Ability to balance simultaneous effort between project work and operational security issue support
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and capacity planning tools
  • Experience working with remote teams across multiple geo locations
  • Organized with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage a project from beginning to end with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Cisco or Meraki devices (including switches and firewalls) security best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with securing and analyzing indicators of compromise across multi-vendor networks (Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet)
  • Network certification(s) preferred: Cisco / Juniper Security Certification or industry certification like GCFW, GSEC, CISM, CISSP
  • Knowledge of regulatory and privacy requirements, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Protection and Payment Card Industry (PCI)/Data Security Standard.
  • Experience with Network/System Intrusion Detection or Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
  • Basic systems administration is plus
  • Travel will be required (10%)
