Job Description:

The Database Analyst is a major contributor to the quality, accuracy and evolution of Content Services, MDM platform and the Product Library. This inspired critical thinker will apply project management and analytical skills to major business challenges and quality control issues that ultimately impact quality and efficiency of the team.

The role requires experience in evaluating and manipulating large datasets. Knowledge of the Natural Products or Conventional Industry and knowledge of the departments, brands, products and attributes are highly valuable. An analytical-thinker and leadership experience is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Process Improvement and Total Quality Management (TQM)
  • Lead implementation of Health Report Card with Library team
  • Document the Library’s ongoing workflows and processes
  • Identify and report Key Performance Indicators for the database
  • Provide commentary for SPINS Client Services Team reports (e.g. Business Overviews and Strategic Expansions)
  • Maintains team processes initiatives
  • Subject matter expert on Product Library processes and procedures
  • Audit product information on natural products utilizing manufacturers, SPINS partners, the Internet and other sources
  • Data Entry outside of standard framework, as needed
  • Contribute to new Content initiatives
  • Communicate Product Library status updates effectively with internal team members, as needed
  • Generate status reports on assigned tasks and project

Nonessential functions:

  • Perform other ad-hoc assignments as required by management

 

 

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 2 years’ experience working with large amounts of dataset in Microsoft Access/Excel, Sequel, or other coding languages
  • 2 years of experience as an analyst; experience working with syndicated data (SPINS, The Nielsen Co., IRI and/or Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturing setting)
  • 1 years’ knowledge and/or experience in a natural/organic/specialty gourmet/conventional grocery retail environment or equivalent
  • 1 years’ project supervisor experience or equivalent
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, organizational and project management skills
  • Strong record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics & conceptual thinking skills
  • Display clear results orientation with an intense focus on achieving short and long-term goals
  • Must be able to draw conclusions from data and summarize results quickly and efficiently
  • Strong focus on Quality, Process Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction
  • Experience with data analysis necessary
  • Understanding of Data Operations

Qualifications Desired:

  • Exposure to natural/specialty gourmet or conventional grocery product sales data.
