Responsibilities:

Reporting into the Head of People for North America, the primary responsibilities are:

 Employee Relations

  • Leading investigations while following best practices and adhering to company policy. Comfort in partnering with internal counsel to assess the company’s exposure to potential claims involving terminations, complaints, harassment and discrimination allegations.
  • Working closely with managers to address performance management concerns including performance plans, corrective actions and involuntary exits.
  • Maintaining appropriate confidentiality in dealing with company and employee information.

Policy & Compliance

  • Developing and implementing policies on diverse and progressive HR topics including, but not limited to: Affirmative Consent, Workplace Transitions, Diversity & Inclusion, and addressing workplace concerns in accordance with company policies while respecting the differences in each individual situation.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, local and state legislation including governmental reporting as well as creating, modifying, understanding, articulating, and interpreting company policies and procedures.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Planning, designing, implementing, evaluating and managing health and welfare benefits for the US and Canada. (Self-funded plans is a plus!),
  • Serve as Project Manager/Lead while collaborating with various internal committees supporting benefit and welfare planning.
  • Managing and analyzing compensation review programs for North America including external market surveys and creation of salary bands.

Leadership

  • Learning how the HR/People Support department functions within the company, providing support and implementing process improvement strategies as needed.
  • Providing coaching and proactive interventions to serve as a strategic partner to our North American business.
  • Managing a distributed team of HR professionals responsible for HR Operations functions including, but not limited to: HR analytics & metrics, onboarding, compliance and policy drafting, communication & compliance, voluntary and involuntary exits, US and Canada payroll and benefits, background screening, employee relations, performance and change management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least ten (10) years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a professional services, high-tech or consulting environment.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with and resolve confidential, ambiguous and sensitive situations and issues of a complex nature while providing flexible solutions when appropriate.
  • Robust communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
  • Works well under pressure, independently and collaboratively with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and optimization execution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, G Suite, HRIS software (PeopleSoft, Workday and ADP WFN Payroll is a huge plus).
  • HR certification is a plus!
